Over one lakh Farmers to Unite at Mahabubnagar Rythu Sadassu
Hyderabad: The State government has asked officials and elected representatives to work in unison to ensure the grand conduct of the Farmers' Conference festival (Rythu Sadassu), scheduled to be held in Mahabubnagar from November 28 to 30.
A high-level review meeting on the arrangements for the festival was held at the Secretariat here on Tuesday, chaired by Agriculture Minister Tummala Nageswara Rao, Tourism Minister Jupally Krishna Rao, and Health Minister Damodara Raja Narasimha. The meeting was attended by Telangana State Planning Board Vice Chairman Dr. Chinna Reddy, Agriculture and Farmers Welfare Commission Chairman M Kodanda Reddy, and other senior officials, including Chief Secretary Santhi Kumari, DGP Jitender, district collectors, SPs, MLAs, and MLCs from Mahabubnagar.
The three-day festival will begin on November 28, with Agriculture Minister Tummala Nageswara Rao inaugurating the event. The first day will see participation from farmers of the undivided Mahabubnagar district.
On November 29, farmers from other districts will attend, while the final day, November 30, will witness participation from over one lakh farmers across the state. Chief Minister Revanth Reddy will be the chief guest for the closing ceremony.
The event will feature discussions on modern farming methods, loan waivers, and government schemes. Ideal farmers will share their success stories and video presentations will showcase agricultural innovations.
Exhibition stalls will display advanced farming machinery, hybrid seeds, and state-supported schemes. The Agriculture department has been instructed to livestream the event across 560 Rythu Vedikas in Telangana.
Adequate arrangements for traffic, parking, and public awareness have been mandated by Chief Secretary Santhi Kumari to ensure smooth execution.
Ministers emphasised the importance of using the event to highlight the government’s substantial investments in agriculture, benefiting over 20,000-30,000 farmers in each constituency through initiatives like loan waivers.
The elected representatives, including MLCs, MLAs, and senior officials, pledged to ensure the festival’s success and make it a model for agricultural events in the State.
